" When You Have Coins To Sell."   Updated August, 2005

Disclaimer

Jan. 2008:  Metals have risen dramatically since we published this list.   The actual prices on the coins shown below are higher.  Usually the rare coins will still be rare.  For most  items that we offer to buy here the prices are now  much higher.  Please check with us for current prices if you have anything to sell.  Thanks, The Staff at Belleair Coins.

ABOUT US: Belleair Coins was founded in 1973 by Patricia and Art Arbutine, a retired USAF M/Sgt (1953-73), and a 1971 graduate of the University of Tampa, Bachelor of Science, Business and Economics. Our motto is Honesty Integrity Reliability, and we live up to it. In 33 years in business we have never been sued nor had a complaint lodged against us at the Pinellas Consumer Protection Agency. If you do any dealings with us, you can be sure of a fair, honest transaction.
OUR EXPERIENCE: Our coin department consists of Art, his brother Gil, and three sons, Greg, Chris and Jay. Brother Gil has worked here 28 years, and the sons (all in their 40s now) have worked in the store since grade and high school, and all have been full time employees for the past 20+ years. Two nieces,  Beth and Kathy,  have each worked here 20+ years. Two 16 year old grandsons work in the store after school and Saturdays and during the summer. We have a cumulative 100+ years of experience buying, selling, and appraising coins and currency. We know US colonials, ancients, Spanish colonial, treasure coins, foreign, and of course regular US coins. We do appraisals for local attorneys, the courts, the IRS, the FBI and others. We have had dealers tables at the Hong Kong and Singapore coin shows for the past 25 years. We regularly attend national and international coin shows. We are members of three electronic trading networks for coins, jewelry and diamonds..
(Brother Gil  retired in March, 2006)

ABOUT PRICES ON THIS LIST: Prices listed here are exactly or very close to what we would pay for your coins. This is updated only periodically. Prices fluctuate from time to time. However should you use this list to evaluate your coins, this is about what you would get.

COMPLETENESS OF THE PRICE LIST: We have not included coins that are very seldom seen in typical coin collections/accumulations. If you want a complete price list of every US coin ever minted, including colonial coins, California gold, commemoratives, and those coin series that are not commonly seen in most coin collections, we recommend THE OFFICIAL BLUE BOOK of UNITED STATES COINS. For 60+ years people have been using this book to determine the prices they would be paid if their collection were sold to a coin dealer. The book is $9.95 retail. This is an excellent guide for those who have an extensive coin collection. Should you want a copy, mail us a check for $9,  Paypal (art@belleaircoins.com), and we will ship one to you. Belleair Coins Inc, 1350 W Bay, Largo Fl 33770.

OTHER THINGS WE BUY: If you have browsed through our website you will notice that we have branched out from coins to many other things. Within our 15,000 square foot magnificent building we maintain one of the largest fine and estate jewelry departments in the Tampa Bay area. We are probably the largest silverware pattern matching service in the world. We sell crystal, china, Hummels and all sorts of fine gift items. We are always interested in buying anything that we sell. We are always buying vintage wrist and antique pocket watches, military collectables, most collectables and antiques, diamonds, estate jewelry, stamp collections, and of course coins.
FOREIGN COINS: We are experts and experienced dealers in all coin categories: ancients, Spanish colonial, treasure coins, foreign coins, tokens and medals. We are always interested in buying foreign coins, medals and currency.
US and FOREIGN CURRENCY: Same as above. We buy everything from 5c notes to great rarities. There is nothing too large or small.

PROCEDURE for SELLING COINS: If you are in the Tampa Bay area it is very easy. Bring the coins to our store. We will give you a free verbal appraisal of exactly what we would pay for your coins, no charge, and no obligation to sell. We will go over your collection, coin by coin, or in groups and explain what and why, face to face, as we go along. When we have finished, you may wish to sell some or all, or think about it. We are friendly, honest, and easy to get along with. We are Life Members of the ANA (American Numismatic Association) since 1963, pledged to pay fair prices for coins. If you are not in our area, you can send us a list of your coins., for an immediate offer.
PREPARATION of COINS to BE SOLD: Do not clean any coins. Improper cleaning can greatly lower the value of rare coins. If you are bringing the coins into the store, it would save time if you separated the cents, nickels, dimes, quarters, etc., from each other, same if you are shipping us a collection. If you have any questions call us at 888 436-6463.
GRADING of COINS
WORN: The coin has at least a partial date but is worn into the rims, some details are worn out, not visible. Coins that are badly rim nicked, scratched or otherwise damaged may fall into this price category.
GOOD: The rims are complete. The coin shows considerable wear but most everything is weak but still visible. The date shows four full digits.
VERY GOOD: Still shows a lot of wear but it is mostly even. Most details are visible.
FINE: The coin shows even, moderate wear, small details are now visible.
VERY FINE: A very attractive coin, light wear, shows considerable details.
EXTREMELY FINE: Slight wear, all details are sharp.
ABOUT UNCIRCULATED: Full luster, faint wear on high points, near uncirculated.
UNCIRCULATED: No trace of wear with mint luster. There can be "bag marks" where coins banged against each other in mint sewn bags.
